Big Lake Report
Charter: KCK Sportfishing Charters
Date Posted: May 27, 06 9:47
we fished the big lake out of Whitehall. It was a nice day on the lake after two days of big North blows. The water is still very cold. 42 degrees on the surface and 40 degrees down a 100 feet. The best fishing was between 180 and 250 feet of water. Fish came from the surface down 96feet. From the radio chatter it sounds like the fishing is better a little south of the channel. Best colors were orange crush spoons, and blue flys with blue spindoctor flashers. As the water warms the next couple weeks look for the fishing to really improve. The cold water makes them fight really good so nows a great time to book a charter with one of the Whitehall/Montague charter boats.
